Open Arms provides a Christ-filled atmosphere showing love to the least of these. Currently they have 60 children in the daycare facility, where a huge focus is on education and teaching the Word of God. Open Arms also serves 100 youth in their teen center, has an actively growing church, and a medical and dental clinic. Open Arms protects these children from the dangers of the streets and from being abandoned to an orphanage.
Founded by Daniel and Heidi Elizarraraz, Open Arms Childcare Ministries is a non-profit charity that provides no-cost childcare to needy families. It is located in La Mision, Baja California, Mexico. Open Arms provides assistance to families who are in desperate need of childcare services.
MISSION: PREVENTING THE ABANDONMENT OF CHILDREN TO ORPHANAGES OR THE STREETS, AND KEEPING FAMILIES TOGETHER.
VISION: OPEN OUR ARMS TO THE CHILDREN AND FAMILIES LIKE CHRIST HAS DONE TO US, SO THAT THEY MAY KNOW THE LOVE OF CHRIST.
Their current project is building a second daycare three hours south of where they are now, in Camalu Mexico. Even though the need is great where they are in Baja, Camalu is a much more impoverished city. As of right now land has been bought, foundation has been poured, walls are up, and its now time to raise money for the roof.
